Taxi Fm
Type Locality and Naming
The type section is located in the South Hills of the Taxi Road, Nenjiang County, Heilongjiang Province. It was named by Zhang Guohua in 1959, and was cited officially by the Compiling Group for the Regional Stratigraphic Chart of the Heilongjiang Province (1979).
Lithology and Thickness
Composed of grey-black thin-bedded clayey siltstone, fine-grained sandstone and carbonaceous slate, intercalated with ore-bearing marble and crystalline limestone, with a thickness of over 70 m.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
Uncertain; no base of it having been found. Next older regional unit are the Alinhe Fm volcanics.
Upper contact
Uncertain contact relationship with the overlying Linjiatun Fm
Regional extent
Distributed in the Nanshan Mt. of Taxi Road, Shiwuliwanzi and Nanpingshan areas, Nenjiang County, and the Bashen Mt. area of the Dedu County. Coeval with upper Xiaohelihe Gr volcanics.

Yields brachiopod fossils represented by Yakovlevia mammatiformis, Y. taxiensis, Neospirifer ambiensis.
